Cleaning Services in Minsa Hospitals are Being Provided Without Authorization from the Men in White

The Aquilino Tejeira Hospital, in Penonomé, is one of the eight hospitals of the Ministry of Health whose cleaning is provided by Men in White.

“There is no addendum to the contract that expired on June 30, 2026. Continuity is based on the Exceptional Procurement Procedure, which still needs to complete the stages of fund allocation, formalization and endorsement,” explained the Ministry of Health.  Hombres de Blanco, Corp., leader of a consortium currently carrying out the cleaning and disinfection of eight hospitals managed by the Ministry of Health (Minsa), lacks a formal contract to perform these tasks, the company itself acknowledged. This is despite the fact that the one-year contract period expired on June 30, when the contractual term ended.  According to the minutes of the public act’s approval, the representative of Men in White present in this process—who expressed interest in obtaining this $80 million contract—stated: “…We do not currently have a formalized contract, even though we are the company that is providing the service…” of disinfection and cleaning of the Minsa hospitals.
