A Mass Was Held for Former Panama President Ricardo Martinelli Soon to Undergo Surgery

Camacho reminded everyone this Saturday that former President Ricardo Martinelli remains the leader of the Realizando Metas party. His remarks came during a mass held at the John Paul II Chapel to pray for Martinelli’s health.  Martinelli must undergo surgery soon due to discomfort he is experiencing in his spine.  “This mass is to entrust his health to God’s hands so that everything goes well,” the spokesman said.  Camacho stressed that Martinelli has proven to be a strong man and that he bravely overcomes the many obstacles he has faced for more than a decade. 

He also acknowledged that the death of his pet, the dog Bruno, hit him hard because of the attachment they had, but he has been getting back on his feet.  “Ricardo is known for always being willing to fight one more round; you can’t give up.”  Martinelli has reported that he will have to undergo a third spinal surgery, after two failed operations in Panama.  According to the former president, he currently has a serious problem with his spine, exacerbated because one of the screws placed in a previous procedure is not in place.  Last year he underwent hernia surgery, in which a large defect in his abdominal wall was corrected.
