Panama President Mulino Receives UFC Athlete Joselyne Edwards at the Presidential Palace

During the meeting, Joselyne Edwards shared details of her historic career as the first Panamanian woman to compete in the UFC.

Panama’s top mixed martial arts exponent, Joselyne Edwards, was received this Wednesday at the Palacio de Las Garzas by the President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino.  During the meeting, “La Pantera” shared details of her historic career as the first Panamanian woman to compete in the UFC.


“I’m always ready. Since I left Panama, I’ve always persevered. God willing, more opportunities will come and doors will keep opening. I continue with discipline and perseverance, because if my name is mentioned, it’s the name of Panama, because I’m 100% Panamanian,” she said.

Recent achievements of Joselyne Edwards

  • Victory in Las Vegas: On April 25, 2026, Edwards achieved a resounding victory by unanimous decision against Brazilian Norma Dumont at the UFC Vegas 116 event.
  • Technical Knockout: In April 2025, the Panamanian defeated Chelsea Chandler at UFC Kansas City; Edwards presented the president with an autographed photograph of this fight.
  • Historic record: She remains the pioneer of Panamanian female MMA in the most important octagon in the world.
