The $13.4 Million Purchase of Helicopters for the Ministry of Security was Approved by the Assembly

The Budget Committee approved $13.4 million for the Ministry of Security to purchase six aircraft and establish a pilot training school.

Panama’s public security force will bolster its air fleet. The National Assembly’s Budget Committee approved a special allocation of $13,454,329 to the Ministry of Public Security (Minseg) for the purchase of six new aircraft.  The rest of the money will be invested in the design and construction of an air training school ($568,786), which is intended to train 15 pilots a year, and in the purchase of equipment ($188,883), according to documents from the Ministry of Security.
