Complaints from Panama Educators Initiated the Case of Fake Diplomas at the Ministry of Education
Preliminary investigations suggest that, in some cases, degrees were incorporated without verification with the issuing universities.
Teachers within the education system itself were reportedly the starting point of an investigation by the Ministry of Education (Meduca) that uncovered an alleged network of fake university diplomas within the institution. “Teachers who did study said: I don’t know this person, he didn’t study with me, and yet he appears at the top of the rankings,” the official recounted, detailing how the audit of the degree registration system began.
The Ministry of Education has set up the email address denuncias@meduca.gob.pa so that citizens can confidentially report any irregularities or suspicious situations related to these cases.
