New Prison in Las Garzas Panama: A Dozen Companies Show Interest
The work will be erected in front of the La Joyita, La Joya and La Nueva Joya penitentiary centers.
A total of 12 companies showed interest in participating in the public tender for the construction of a specialized prison complex for restitution and rehabilitation in Las Garzas, whose reference price is $85 million. The interested companies are:
Centro Equipos, SA; Dream Biometic; Improesa; CTL Ingeniería; Promotora y Desarrolladora Mexicana de Infraestructura, SA; Global Delfos, SA; Proinpetrol, SA; Administración y Supervisión de Obras Civiles, SA; Inversiones Fernández Hermanos, SA; H Grupo Caribe, SA; Ro Consulting; and Constructora Cumo, SA.
This development comes amid broader government efforts to reorganize the Panamanian penitentiary system and update outdated or overcrowded infrastructure in the province of Panama.
