The Panama Canal Extends the Deadline for Submitting Documents for Port Concessions and Gas Pipeline
The current administrator of the Panama Canal Authority indicated that, in response to concerns from interested companies, a new date will be published extending the deadline to allow them more time to prepare a robust proposal.
The deadline for companies interested in pre-qualifying for the concession and construction of the two ports of the Panama Canal, one in Corozal on the Pacific side and the other on Telfers Island on the Atlantic side, as well as the gas pipeline, has been extended to give them more time to submit all the documents required to participate.

“There have been many questions, we’ve had to make many clarifications, and as that happens, you have to provide answers and allow time for the firms to respond to the clarifications and explanations that have been made. So, we are in that process, and it is very likely that we will announce an extension of the deadline so that they have the necessary time to be able to make a robust proposal,” he told the media on Friday afternoon.
