In the Belisario Porras Community Council, Seven Former Officials were Arrested for Alleged Embezzlement

The case is related to the funds from the parallel decentralization program, where Belisario Porras was one of the districts that received the most funding. According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, it received more than $8 million.  According to the investigation, the case is related to an economic loss to the State amounting to more than $8 million. 

This is according to an audit report prepared by the Comptroller General of the Republic and sent to the Prosecutor’s Office. The National Police arrested seven former officials allegedly linked to the crime of embezzlement to the detriment of the Belisario Porras community board, in the district of San Miguelito, who are being investigated for the alleged receipt of checks without justification.
