A Key Agreement to Boost Trade and Investment was Signed Between Panama and Argentina
Panama’s Minister of Commerce and Industries, Julio Moltó, signed the Terms of Reference (TORs) in Buenos Aires to strengthen trade relations with Argentina, in an act that marks the beginning of a new stage of bilateral economic cooperation.
This mission is part of Panama’s strategy following its incorporation into Mercosur, with the intention of strengthening economic integration. Argentine Minister Pablo Quirno participated in the signing, accompanying the formalization of the instrument that will serve as a technical and political basis to advance talks focused on preferential trade, trade facilitation, cooperation and investment. “This is a step that both countries are taking responsibly,” Moltó stated. “Panama is participating, aware of its role as a hub to facilitate trade between different destinations, thus contributing to greater fluidity in commercial relations,” he added.

For his part, Quirno emphasized the shared interest in strengthening economic ties. “These Terms of Reference focus us on the goal of achieving a mutually beneficial exchange for both countries. They are the starting point for Argentine companies to access more markets,” he noted. The official visit includes meetings with the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services, the Argentine Council for International Relations, the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress and the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

The goal is to position Panama as a regional platform for trade, services, logistics and investment, as well as to identify concrete opportunities for Argentine companies to establish operations in the country. This mission is part of Panama’s strategy following its incorporation into Mercosur, with the intention of strengthening economic integration and facilitating the internationalization of companies towards Central America, the Caribbean and other markets in the region.
