Transit cops seek elusive sales centers
WHILE Metro bus passengers continue to face long lines to get their bus passes recharged, the Transit Authority(ATTT) is scouring the city to find 1400 sales outlets.
The ATTT announced Wednesday May 22 that it is continuing to verify the sites listed by Sonda, which manages the financial aspect of the Metro system, to ensure it has the proper number of charge centers.
The company had until Wednesday to have more than 1,400 outlets in place or face further fines. The company had been fined $2,080 a day for not complying with its contract. Finally it provided a list of locations which are being checked out. If any are not operating the company will face further fines, passengers will continue to wait in line and government officials will continue to call for “patience”.
