Alleged Scammer Arrested Who Offered Fake Immigration Services through Panama Social Media

As part of an investigation into the alleged commission of the crime against economic assets, in the form of fraud, units of the National Police, through the Directorate of Judicial Investigation, made effective the arrest of a 36-year-old Panamanian citizen, allegedly linked to a fraud scheme related to false immigration procedures. The operation was carried out through a raid on an apartment located in the Calidonia district, where the suspect was found. During the raid, authorities seized 16 passports of different nationalities, technological equipment, and various documents that will be incorporated into the investigation.


According to the investigation, the man allegedly posed as an immigration lawyer and advertised his services through a social media account. The complaints state that he lured his victims through this platform, requested upfront payments to handle immigration procedures, and then failed to provide the promised services. The suspect was placed under the orders of the competent authorities for the corresponding procedures, while investigations continue to determine the possible existence of other victims.
