The New York Yankees Welcome José Caballero’s Return After Injuries
José Caballero confirmed that he will only be out for 10 days after injuring a finger. Caballero’s return coincides with the return of starting pitcher Gerrit Cole, who missed much of last year due to Tommy John surgery.
Panamanian José Caballero will return to the New York Yankees lineup this Friday as the starting shortstop and seventh in the batting order, at the start of the series against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Panamanian infielder was released from the 10-day injured list after suffering a fracture to the middle finger of his right hand on May 10 against the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field.

Caballero’s return coincides with the return of starting pitcher Gerrit Cole, who missed much of last year due to Tommy John surgery. Cole will take the mound to start the game, scheduled for 6:05 pm at Yankee Stadium. So far, Caballero is batting .259, with 35 hits in 135 at-bats, including 4 home runs, 13 RBIs, 18 runs scored, 7 doubles, 8 walks, 29 strikeouts, and 13 stolen bases, standing out for his versatility and speed on the field.
