Gawking drivers cause Saturday traffic jam

If you see a traffic accident don’t slow down to gawk say Panama traffic authorities after a Saturday morning accident on Via Espana created a two hour major traffic blockage.

The accident took place opposite the University of Science and Technology (ULACIT), after a delivery vehicle crashed into a motorcycle repair shop. The Panama Fire Department and Ambulance 911 were called to the scene but there were no fatalities.

The mobilization of emergency services and the curiosity of drivers who stopped to see what happened further affected existing traffic congestion caused by road works.

 The vehicular jam lasted more than two hours. “Don’t gawk, move” says the Transit Authority (ATTT)
