Scorpion bites and one death spark health warning in Colon
Health officials in Colón issued a warning to the population after revealing that in the first four months of the year an estimated 71 people were stung by scorpions in the province causing one death.
The patients were treated in the Social Security emergency room of the Dr. Manuel A. Guerrero hospital, where anti bite serums are stored.
Dr Publio Degracia, Chief of Epidemiology at the Social Security Fund (CSS) warned that all people stung should seek immediate medical attention.
