Panama discussing pharmaceutical hub with Johnson & Johnson
Panama President, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen seeks to promote the installation of a Pharmaceutical Hub for health innovation in Panama, with the collaboration of the multinational Johnson & Johnson. He held a meeting Monday with the CEOs of the company, also with the objective of addressing the implementation of technology and research development for the infrastructure that is developed in the City of Health.
The representatives of Johnson & Johnson expressed their interest in collaborating in the implementation of technology and innovation that accompanies the modern infrastructure that the National Government has developed in the Ciudad de Salud.
They discussed the promotion of Panama as a Pharmaceutical Hub, which represents a unique opportunity for our country and take advantage of its geographical position to become a regional leader in health. The American multinational develops medical devices, pharmaceutical products, and packaged service goods and in Panama, it is represented by the company SEM where it maintains its main Regional Innovation Hub in the region and also has the capacity to manage diseases such as cancer, HIV, and skin diseases. Johnson & Johnson is the company with the highest investment margin globally in health research and development.
