567,000 Dollars will be the Cost for the Panama City Hall New Year’s Eve Party on the Coastal Strip.

The New Year’s Eve party that the Municipality of Panama intends to hold on the coastal strip will cost $567,524. This is stated in Agreement No. 256 approved by the Municipal Council of Panama, which authorizes Mayor Mayer Mizrachi to contract logistics services for the activity. The New Year’s Eve party, titled “I Star PTY 2026,” will take place at the Mirador del Pacífico. It will feature performances by national and international artists, entrepreneurs, LED screens, and fireworks. The municipality justified holding the event. “This initiative will contribute to the cultural, tourism, and economic development of the Panama district,” it stated.
A week ago, the Mayor’s Office published a best-value tender for the project called “Christmas Activities,” which includes the lighting of the Christmas tree and the logistics of the city’s Christmas parade. The reference price for the public tender is $533,000. The submission of proposals is scheduled for October 26, less than two months before Christmas. Last July, Mayor Mizrachi awarded the contract for the 2026 Christmas lights to the company Disaroca Group, SA, for an amount of over $3 million and 299 thousand. Adding the three contracts together, the planned expenses for the Mayor’s Christmas activities would exceed $4.8 million. In 2023, during the administration of Mayor José Luis Fábrega (2019-2024), of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD), the Christmas lights in the capital city cost $3.2 million.
