Panama’s First Gold Medal at Santa Fe 2026 was Won by Nathalee Aranda.
The Panamanian athlete won the first gold medal, after winning the long jump with a mark of 6.48 meters.
Panama has already won its first gold medal at the XIII South American Games Santa Fe 2026. Athlete Nathalee Aranda won the gold medal in the long jump, after registering a mark of 6.48 meters. Aranda not only took first place, but also recorded the four best jumps of the final, with marks of 6.38 m, 6.42 m, 6.45 m and 6.48 m, dominating the event from start to finish. The silver medal went to Chilean Javiera Musalem, with 6.32 meters, while the bronze went to Brazilian Leticia Oro, with a jump of 6.10 meters. With this performance, Panama achieves its tenth medal in the regional competition and adds its first gold in Santa Fe 2026.

Agrazal became the second Panamanian to reach the podium in wrestling during the day, after Ángel Cortés won the silver medal in the 86 kg category. In judo, Kristine Jiménez added another medal with the bronze in the -57 kg category, while Ronal González also added by taking third place in the -73 kg category, after winning by ippon in Golden Score.

Bowling also contributed to the medal count with the bronze medal won by Donald Lee and William Duen in doubles, who came back after a difficult first day to finish with 4,965 points. In artistic gymnastics, Ana Gabriela Gutiérrez won bronze in floor exercise with 12.934 points, while Hillary Heron took the silver medal in vault with 13.384. In addition, the women’s artistic gymnastics team also reached the podium with a bronze medal.
