Colombian Man Detained in Paso Canoas Chiriquí Province Following an INTERPOL Alert.
A 46-year-old Colombian citizen, a suspect in a foreign criminal investigation, was detected by units of the National Migration Service at the Paso Canoas Control Post in Chiriquí, after immigration checks triggered an INTERPOL Blue Notice. According to information provided by Migration, the citizen is considered a person of interest or suspect within a foreign criminal investigation related to alleged crimes of injury that caused death, homicide or murder.

The institution also noted that, according to the international alert, the investigation would be related to ammunition, gun parts, firearms, other weapons or explosives. The foreigner was traveling on a TICA BUS bus bound for Costa Rica when authorities received the alert during the immigration verification process. After carrying out the corresponding coordination and verifications, the citizen was transferred to the Male Migrant Detention Center, where the procedure established by the competent authorities will continue.
