The Panama Water Treatment Plant in Penonomé is Out of Operation According to IDAAN.
The National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (IDAAN) reported on its X account that the Penonomé water treatment plant, in Coclé, remains out of operation due to the high turbidity recorded in the Zaratí River pictured above.
The situation causes low pressure or lack of drinking water supply in the township of Penonomé and surrounding areas such as IV Centenario, Villas de Llano Marín, Paseo del Río and Vista Hermosa. IDAAN will monitor the river conditions to determine when the plant’s operation can resume.

A Bus Carrying Girls was Stolen in Penonomé.
A vehicle used to transport girls residing in children’s homes was stolen early Saturday morning from the facilities of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Social Development (MIDES), located in Penonomé, Coclé province. It is a white Toyota Coaster bus, license plate GO9704 and unit number 299. The vehicle is used daily to take the girls to their educational centers and medical centers.
The MIDES considers the recovery of this transport a priority, due to the social function it fulfills and the need to guarantee the continuity and safety of the service that the girls receive. For this reason, the institution asks the community of Coclé and the entire country to remain vigilant for any information that may lead to the whereabouts of the missing public property.
