According to the institute’s data, the tremor was recorded at 8:59 pm, with a magnitude of 5.4 and a depth of 13 kilometers, located in the border region between Panama and Costa Rica, 11 kilometers southeast of Progreso, Barú district. The Panama Fire Department reported that, once the earthquake alert was issued, personnel from the entity proceeded to carry out inspections in different hospitals in the province and in other structures.

It was also indicated that, as a preventive measure, emergency vehicles were activated and mobilized, keeping staff alert to any situation. The public is advised to remain calm, follow official recommendations, and report any new developments through the emergency lines.
