Deputy Shirley Castañeda is listed as the candidate backed by the ruling party to preside over the National Assembly during the 2026-2027 legislative period.  Her nomination was confirmed by Congressman Luis Eduardo Camacho, who assured that the candidate has sufficient support to obtain the presidency of the Legislative Body.  Shirley Castañeda is a member of the National Assembly and belongs to the Realizando Metas (RM) party.
