Following a complaint filed in 2024 regarding the disappearance of H-beams from a warehouse in Arraiján, six people were arrested in different provinces as part of Operation H-Beams 3.0..

As part of the corruption investigations at the Ministry of Public Works (MOP), Operation Vigas H 3.0 led to the arrest of six people, following an audit report from the Comptroller’s Office. The six people, including two current and four former officials of the Ministry of Public Works (MOP), were arrested this Monday as part of Operation Vigas H 3.0, carried out by the Attorney General’s Office through the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the Judicial Investigation Directorate (DIJ) of the National Police. The action is part of an investigation into embezzlement related to the disappearance of the so-called “H Beams” from the Ministry of Public Works (MOP), commonly used in infrastructure projects.

The detainees were located during investigations carried out in the provinces of Panama Oeste, Veraguas and Panama. The operation arose from an audit report from the Comptroller General’s Office, received by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office on August 25, 2025, which indicated the alleged involvement of these individuals in the events. The investigation into the “H Beams” began in 2024 following a report of the disappearance of 600 beams stored in a warehouse in the Farfán sector, Veracruz district, Arraiján district.
