INTERPOL PANAMA ARRESTS GERMAN CITIZEN WANTED WITH RED NOTICE

A German citizen, wanted by French authorities, was detected and arrested at Tocumen International Airport by police units on duty at the Interpol Panama National Central Office.  The person was attempting to travel to Kingston, Jamaica, when approached by Interpol agents and taken for further processing by order of the International Affairs Prosecutor’s Office. 

According to the red notice of arrest for extradition purposes, this individual is facing a sentence for participation in a transnational criminal network dedicated to fraud and money laundering.  The case involves a pyramid scheme (Ponzi scheme) executed by a criminal organization with a front for financial investments, whose funds were diverted and laundered through multiple accounts and shell companies.  The action was coordinated within the framework of the Interpol Pact Support 2.0 Project.
