Canada will Help Panama with Potato Shortage.  Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Just Resigned.

Trump trolls Trudeau again by calling him “governor of the great state of Canada”

  • Heavy rains

Heavy rains from October to December 2024 affected local Panama potato production.

  • Supply chain disruption

A vegetable shortage at the Merca Panamá market has led to shortages of essential foods like potatoes and lettuce.

  • Import approval

The Ministry of Agricultural Development (MIDA) approved the import of four containers of potatoes from Canada to address the shortage.

Canadian Prime Minister Announces Resignation

Justin Trudeau, the Canadian prime minister, has announced to the news media at a conference that he intends to resign. He has faced growing pressure from inside his governing Liberal Party after a surge in support for the opposition Conservatives in the polls.

Trudeau Reveals ‘One Regret’

Taking questions from the media, Justin Trudeau is asked what regrets he has from his time in office.   “If I have one regret… I do wish that we’d been able to change the way we elect our governments in this country,” he says, before adding that he will reflect and likely find many more things he wished he had handled differently. The outgoing prime minister suggests he wanted voters to be able to pick their second or third choices on ballots, with the current system, in his view, being set up to play to the advantage of those who want to “polarize” and play Canadians against each other.  “I could not change the system unilaterally without the support of the other parties… that wouldn’t have been responsible.”

Trump Insists Canada Should be Part of the US after Trudeau Resigns

US President-elect Donald Trump has insisted that Canada should become a full-fledged state, saying that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “knew this” and that is why he announced his resignation.  “Many people in Canada would LOVE to be the 51st state. The United States can no longer afford the huge trade deficits and subsidies that Canada needs to stay afloat. Justin Trudeau knew this and resigned,” Trump said on his social network Truth Social.  “If Canada joined the United States, there would be no tariffs, taxes would be significantly lower, and they would be TOTALLY SAFE from the threat of Russian and Chinese ships that constantly surround them. Together, what a great nation we would be!” added the president-elect.

Trump’s proposal that Canada join the United States, which he has been repeating in recent days more as a joke than as a real possibility, has generated unrest among Canadians, defenders of their sovereignty.  Trump later reportedly first expressed this idea during a dinner with Trudeau at Mar-a-Lago, Florida, on November 29.  The president-elect has threatened to impose 25% tariffs on all goods from Canada and Mexico if they do not stem the flow of migrants and drugs into the United States, prompting Trudeau to visit Mar-a-Lago to try to persuade Trump not to implement the measures.  At a press conference, Trudeau announced that he will resign as prime minister after more than nine years in power and that he will also leave the leadership of the Liberal Party. So who’s got money on Trudeau starting a MAGA party in Canada? lol
