Legislative Proposal Includes Mayors and Councilors in Declaration of Assets

The legislative subcommittee that is analyzing Bill 27, which seeks to strengthen transparency in public administration, was activated Wednesday, November 27. The deputies that make up this group will meet to analyze the document.  In the first debate, this project was approved on September 3, 2024. The document expands the scope of officials required to submit a sworn declaration of assets. Currently, this obligation falls on high-ranking officials such as the President of the Republic, ministers and magistrates, but with the modification it would also include mayors, councilors, superintendents, diplomats, senior prosecutors, governors and any highest authority of public institutions.
