OPINION : A Trump heads up for Panama
The trial of the president of the United States is testing the resistance of the political and legal institutions of that country. Trump’s ragged presidency has been shifting among scandals, resignations, conflicts with the media and a greater popular rejection of racist, sexist and xenophobic speeches by the president.
Like other businessmen involved in politicians, Trump has the support of important channels, radio stations and tabloid sensationalists, who are dedicated to exalting his figure for the political food of his electoral base.
The weeks of public hearings in Congress have exposed how the servitude of political figures has clashed with the professionalism of diplomatic career officials and intelligence services. The great lesson of this process, is that we have to take care of democracy—LA PRENSA, Nov. 24
