Pele police procedures condemned by Bar Association

The recently introduced “Pele Police” devices which have led to the detention of citizens without cause are under attack again this time from the president of the National Bar Association (CNA).

Rubén Elías Rodríguez says the application of the hand held ujnits linked to an out of date computer base violates the right to freedom with the great majority of citizens. This is done he says under the pretext of pursuing a small minority that represents less than.01% of the population.

Civil society should promote the creation of new courts to ensure the implementation of Figure the shelter.

According to Rodriguez, these courts would quickly resolve actions taken by citizens against officials who abuse their authority using of the computerized gadgets.
In his opinion, the legal concept of habeas corpus, used throughout the world precisely to stop arbitrary arrests, is subject to obvious "smear and discredit."

"I do not recommend habeas corpus because what will happen is that the person will be detained longer pending the outcome” It should be immediate.
“I have come to understand those who prefer to choose to apply precautionary measures other than detention and by admitting guilt in the first phase of the process, to enjoy freedom again, "he said.
