Carnival not cause of Cinta Costera grass replacement – Shamah

Repair work on the grass on the Cinta Costera following the, Carnival celebrations has begun with truckloads of  replacement sod arriving .

The Panama Tourism Authority allocated $40 000 for the maintenance of the coastal strip after Carnival but the tourism manager says it would have had to be replaced with or without the celebrations,

Tourism manager Solomon Shamah, defended the Rumba Jumbo, which he claimed included tens  of thousands of tourists, in the record attendance at the four day event, and held that the the change of grass had to be done with or without Carnival. 

For repairs after  former mayor Bosco Vallarino’s, Christmas villas, the city had to spend around $60,000.
