Tocumen expansion bids moved back
The administration of Tocumen International Airport, at the request of the companies involved in the project, has agreed to postpone the date for the opening of bids for the airport expansion project, scheduled for August 3.
Among the 31 companies who will participate on the new date, August 13 are Sacyr, Odebrecht and Riva. The sate was changed at the request of the companies involved in the project.
Oderbrecht has already received over $1 billion in government contracts, some, like phase two of the Cinta Costera, without bidding.
In addition to building the new terminal, the company that wins the contract will have to build a four-lane access road to the airport to connect with the Southern Corridor.
The airport administration plans to obtain funds to build the project from the commercial spaces that will be available from the new expansion." The airport administration has been under fire recently for alleged sweetheart deals when handing out licenses to operate in the existing terminal
