Doppelmayr in Panama is Recommended to be Awarded the $270 Million Project for the San Miguelito Cable Cars.
The San Miguelito cable car project had to be relaunched after an initial bidding process failed to attract any offers.
The evaluation committee for the tender to build Panama’s first cable car recommended awarding the project to the Swiss-Austrian company Doppelmayr, after determining that its proposal met the requirements established in the tender specifications.

The project, known as the San Miguelito Cable Car, involves an investment of up to $270 million and seeks to transform mobility between different sectors of the districts of Panama and San Miguelito. The recommendation was communicated by the Panama Metro Secretariat, which explained that the process still needs to complete the following administrative stages before the final award can be made.
Doppelmayr was the Only Company that Submitted a Bid.

Doppelmayr Panama Corp. was the only company that submitted a proposal during the presentation and opening of bids, held on August 18.The company submitted a financial offer of $255,163,788.03, not including the 7% tax. According to official information, this tax is not applicable because Metro de Panamá SA is exempt.
