18 families homeless as Colon building collapses

THE COLLAPSE of a balcony on a building on Calle 8 in Colón on Sunday, November 24 has left some 18 families homeless.

This is the second instance of a balcony collapsing in the area in less than a month.

Firefighters and officials from the civil defense agency Sinaproc responded to the collapse and cordoned off the area.

Osvaldo Chavarría, regional director of the Ministry of Housing, said the entity was assessing the situation and determining how the families will be assisted says La Prensa
There were fortunately  no injuries.
