US Ambassador full confidence in Electoral Tribunal

THE U.S. AMBASSADOR to Panama, Jonathan Farrar, said Tuesday ,April 22 that he has full confidence in the Electoral Tribunal (TE) ahead of the May 4 general elections.

Farrar said that the process being carried out is "sufficient enough to prevent fraud‘

The U.S. ambassador met with the Tribunal magistrates to discuss the preparations for the elections. The embassy will participate with a team of 15 observers.
Asked his opinion about allegations of the lack of independence of some institutions, the diplomat said that the TE is "a good example of an independent institution," reported La Prensa.
At the same time he said that "it is important that all Panamanians come out to vote."
