Arrest warrants for 4 no show money laundering suspects

THE SPECIAL PROSECUTOR against organized crime has issued four arrest warrants as part of the money laundering investigation of former Supreme Court Justice Alejandro Moncada Luna.
Sources told La Prensa that warrants have been issued for Óscar Iván Rivera, of Omega Engineering, Francisco Feliú, of PR Solutions, and Costa Ricans Mauricio Ortiz Quezada and Claudio Poma Murialdo, of Constructora P&V.
They have refused to appear before prosecutors for questioning.
Omega Engineering received a contract to build a courthouse in West Panama while Moncada Luna served as chief justice in 2012 and 2013.
According to investigations by the public prosecutor, the company deposited money in accounts linked to the former judge.
Constructora P&V has been linked to Ricardo Calvo, a friend of Moncada Luna who has fled the country.
Prosecutor Nahaniel Murgas is also investigating Nicolas Corcione, who has so far avoided questioning claiming his status as a member of the Panama Canal Authority’s board of directors.
