Heavy storm floods key city routes

 

ALERTS went out to drivers and citizens in Panama City on Saturday, June 23 after a torrential downpour flooded  a dozen  key thoroughfares with water in some areas reaching car roofs.

 

The  strong storm began at 1:00 p.m. and authorities urged citizens to take precautions and avoid the flooded  avenues including a section of the Ricardo J. Alfaro road, near the Cochez store,  the Transístmica, under the vehicular bridge near the brewery and  the

roundabout that connects with the Ramón Raias road (El Pascal,) and on Via España, at the Via Argentina exit

The Centennial road was also flooded after the overflow of a river.

Several sectors of San Francisco and Bella Vista were also affected by the floods.
