Suspect in death of missing  girl linked to more disappearances

The authorities of the Public Ministry in the province of Chiriquí confirmed Thursday that the cause of the death of 22-year-old Astri Tugri whose skeletal remains were located in April in the San Carlos sector of David is unknown but the identity was confirmed through a report from the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences (IMELCF).

The deceased was last seen in the company of 48-year-old José Alberto Atencio,  when she left home in search of a job. He has been charged with imprisonment and rape.

The coordinating prosecutor of the Homicide and Femicide Unit indicated that once the medical report is obtained that establishes the cause of the death of the girl there is the possibility of charging the person arrested Thursday.

Currently, the same person is linked to the disappearance of 17-year-old Viviana Gallardo and 28-year-old Anabel Valdivia who disappeared last year and for which he was charged with deprivation of liberty and aggravated robbery in both cases.

The First Superior Prosecutor in the province of Chiriquí, Luis Martinez, says that the Public Ministry continues to work on the cases in order to resolve them in the shortest time.
