One person injured in Panama Canal accident
One person was injured at 5.40 am Thursday, December 22 when the general cargo ship Emma Oldendorf with the flag of Madeira, Portugal, left its course, causing other vessels to be affected in the Amador area at the Pacific exit of the Panama Canal reports the Canal Authority (ACP) which confirmed that the injured person was being treated by medical staff
The transit of the vessels is maintained normally “since the ship does not hinder the channel and is being assisted by tugboats from the Panama Canal.” said an ACP statement. The causes of the accident are being investigated.
