They intercepted a vessel and apprehended its three crew members. With this operation, SENAN has seized 58,847 packages of drugs in 89 operations carried out so far in 2026, reinforcing patrols and surveillance on the country’s coasts.
In a new operation against transnational organized crime, the National Aeronaval Service (SENAN) seized 1,513 packages of suspected illicit substances south of Punta Burica, Chiriquí province. During the operation, authorities intercepted a high-speed vessel and apprehended its three crew members. The operation was deployed after the detection of a Go Fast type boat that was moving at high speed with an unusual attitude.
SENAN units initiated the pursuit and intercepted the vessel, securing both the cargo and the people on board. In coordination with the Chiriquí Drug Prosecutor’s Office, the vessel, the detainees and the alleged drugs were transferred to the Quebrada de Piedra Air and Naval Station, where the official registration and counting procedures were carried out.
