Several People Arrested in Chiriquí Province Panama after Firearms and Illicit Substances were Seized

Six people, including two minors, were apprehended by police units after an operation carried out in the Las Lajas district, Chiriquí province, where a 9mm pistol, ammunition, suspected illicit substances, cash and technological equipment were seized.  The citizens were located while traveling in a vehicle in the beach area, near Las Lajas Beach Resort and during the verification; the aforementioned evidence was seized from them.  Three of those arrested have prior records for crimes against public safety, drug-related offenses, and weapons possession.  These individuals, along with the evidence, were placed under the jurisdiction of the appropriate authorities.

Anti-drug Operation Culminates with 16 Arrests in Chiriquí

This Friday, 16 people were arrested for their alleged involvement in drug-related crimes, specifically micro-trafficking, during Operation “Oriente Sin Drogas” (Drug-Free East), carried out by the National Police, through the National Anti-Drug Directorate, in coordination with the Public Ministry.  As part of the operation, authorities carried out 13 search warrants in the districts of Tolé, Remedios, San Félix and San Lorenzo, in the province of Chiriquí, where they also seized illicit substances, $17,076.00 in cash and 14 cell phones, as part of the investigations.  The National Police reiterated its commitment to continue actions against organized crime and common delinquency, with the aim of guaranteeing the safety and well-being of citizens.
