The Ministry of Health (MINSA) held an awareness campaign in Pueblo Nuevo to strengthen dengue prevention and the elimination of breeding grounds.

The Ministry of Health (MINSA), through the Panama Metro Health Region, carried out an awareness campaign in the township of Pueblo Nuevo with the aim of reinforcing dengue prevention actions and promoting community participation in the elimination of breeding grounds of the Aedes aegypti mosquito pictured below.

The activity took place in the vicinity of the Rómulo Roux Health Center, where MINSA officials handed out informational brochures to passersby and displayed banners with educational messages aimed at raising awareness about the importance of eliminating containers that accumulate water.

MINSA Promotes the Elimination of Mosquito Breeding Grounds

During the day, health personnel provided recommendations to citizens on preventive measures they can take in their homes, including keeping yards clean, eliminating unused containers, cleaning gutters and avoiding the accumulation of water, the main breeding environment for the mosquito that transmits dengue.  The Ministry of Health (MINSA) emphasized that community participation is essential to reducing the risk of infection, as eliminating breeding grounds remains one of the most effective strategies for controlling mosquito spread.
