With the goal of inspiring new generations and showcasing the career opportunities offered by modern mining, Cobre Panamá is participating in the Futuro 360° vocational expo. Through a tour with interactive activities inspired by soccer, students discover how dozens of professions converge in a mining operation and contribute to the country’s development. During the day, more than 6,000 students toured the stand and participated in activities that allowed them to learn about the different professions involved in a modern mining operation, from engineering, environment and technology, to safety, medicine, logistics, human resources and communication.

Beyond mining operations, the students were also interested in learning about the employment opportunities offered by mining industry suppliers, an ecosystem comprised of companies from multiple sectors that require talent in various specialties. To bring this reality closer to the students, the booth featured the participation of the Panamanian Mining Chamber (CAMIPA) and the Panamanian Mining Industry Suppliers Association (APIMPA). For Miguel Rodríguez, president of the Panamanian Mining Industry Suppliers Association (APIMPA), these types of spaces are fundamental to connecting young people with the real needs of the labor market and showing them the wide range of opportunities that exist around the mining industry.

Cobre Panamá’s participation also included a lecture given by Maru Gálvez pictured at the top of the page, Public Relations Manager of Cobre Panamá, who invited students to reflect on the challenges of building a professional career in a constantly changing environment. “Many believe that success consists of having all the answers from the very beginning. The reality is that the world changes faster than any plan we can make. What will truly make the difference is the ability to keep learning, adapt to new scenarios, and have the courage to move forward even when we don’t know the entire path,” Maru Gálvez emphasized.

The talk generated high participation from the students, who took advantage of the meeting to ask questions about different aspects of the mining operation. At Futuro 360°, Cobre Panamá didn’t just talk about mining. They talked about opportunities, adaptation, growth, and the future. Because behind every profession there’s a story to be written, and behind every student there’s potential yet to be discovered.
