The joint operation, carried out by 105 rescuers, made it possible to locate the body near the area known as the La Cuchilla lagoon.

Panama: Thanks to images captured with drones, units of the Joint Task Force managed to locate early Monday afternoon the body of Isaac Gill, 26, from Veraguas, after four uninterrupted days of operations, who was swept away by a flash flood on Friday in the Macho de Monte River, Tierras Alta’s district.  Colonel Nadia Samudio, of the Fire Department, confirmed the discovery of the body and highlighted the effort and commitment of the teams that participated in the search and rescue efforts from the unified command post located in the Macho de Monte canyon, from where the search actions were coordinated.

The joint operation, carried out by 105 rescuers from Senafront, National Police, Senan, Sinaproc, MiAmbiente, the Benemérito Cuerpo de Bomberos, Red Cross and other entities, made it possible to locate the body near the area known as the La Cuchilla lagoon.  During the operation, land and water patrols were carried out at various strategic points, including Paraíso de Boquerón, the Macho de Monte river engine house, La Escalera and the banks of the Piedra River.  It is expected that the Public Ministry staff will be able to enter the area to carry out the removal of the body, with which the victim’s mother and her surviving sister close this tragic chapter.
