This Weekend there will be Irregular Water Supply as Announced by IDAAN in Many Sectors of Panama City.

The National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (IDAAN) announced an irregular water supply and low pressure in parts of Panama City (specifically affecting areas like Balboa, La Boca, and Calle Tabernilla) due to line interconnection work linked to the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal project.

Affected Areas and Timing.

• When: Saturday, September 5, 2026, lasting for several hours during the intervention.

• Where: Balboa, La Boca, Calle Tabernilla, and nearby surroundings.

• Reason: Potable water line interconnections (10-inch and 20-inch pipes) near piles E13 and E15 for the Fourth Bridge project.

IDAAN reported that Saturday, September 5, work will be carried out to interconnect drinking water lines related to the Fourth Bridge project, so the supply will be irregular for several hours in sectors of Balboa and nearby areas.  The work is scheduled for this Saturday, September 5th, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. 

During that period, the drinking water service may experience irregularities in Balboa, Tabernilla Street, La Boca and surrounding areas.  IDAAN recommends that residents of these areas take the necessary precautions against possible disruptions to the water supply while the interconnection work is being carried out.  The interruption or irregularity of the service is related to the work being carried out as part of the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal project. 

Residents of Veracruz Denounce Lack of Drinking Water and Absence of IDAAN (National Water and Sewerage Institute).

Veracruz representative Micsila Rodríguez and residents denounce the lack of water in the sector despite the fact that the Community Board invested about $82,000 in the construction of four pumping stations; however, the National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (Idaan) has not complied with what was established in an agreement.
