The Panama national football team presented the 26 players who will represent the country in the 2026 World Cup with an audiovisual production in Spanish.  The audiovisual production quickly became a showcase of national pride. Shots of the Panama Canal, Tocumen International Airport, the coastal strip, and Amador accompanied the presentation of each of the footballers called up for Panama’s second World Cup appearance.

But the video didn’t just showcase tourist postcards. It also included everyday scenes very familiar to Panamanians: shaved ice vendors, lottery ticket sellers, and merchants from public markets appeared as part of the visual narrative.  There were also images from the Bridge of the Americas, the traditional red devils and boxing, basketball and soccer courts, in a mix that sought to reflect the popular and sporting identity of the country.

Panama will make its debut on June 17 against Ghana at the Toronto Stadium in Canada, in Group L, which also includes Croatia and England.  Panama’s 26-man official roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, managed by head coach Thomas Christiansen, features a highly experienced group of players competing in Group L.
