Police Arrest 677 People and Seize 191 Packages of Drugs in the Last 72 Hours

Under the Firmness Plan, the National Police arrested 677 people in the last 72 hours. Of these, 376 were arrested on warrants, 207 for administrative offenses, 54 caught in the act, 39 for drug trafficking, and one for drug trafficking. 139 search warrants were executed, 20 firearms with 210 rounds of ammunition, 15 magazines, 191 packages of drugs, $5,957.00 in cash were seized, and four vehicles were recovered.  In terms of traffic violations, 3,658 tickets were issued, including 1,122 for speeding, 195 for improper lighting, 80 for expired licenses, 40 for using a cell phone while driving, and 89 for driving under the influence. A total of 340 vehicles were towed.  There were 279 traffic accidents with a total of 68 injured and two fatalities in the provinces of Colón and Chiriquí.
