President José Raúl Mulino confirmed this Wednesday, within the framework of the Maritime Convention of the Americas, that the concession for the port of Isla Margarita, in Colón, will be put out to tender before the end of 2026.  Mulino did not specify which companies would be interested or whether the bidding process would be by invitation, as is the case in this type of specialized call for tenders, in a market that includes large shipping companies that dominate container transport worldwide, such as MSC, AP Moller-Maersk, Maersk, CMA CGM, COSCO and Hapag-Lloyd, players that could be looking for expansion opportunities in the region.
