Brazil Gets Thrashed in Their Flag Football Game by Panama’s Debut Under-17 Team. Afterwards Panama Gets a 60-13 Win Over Uruguay
Panama’s under-17 team debuted with a resounding victory over Brazil in flag football, driven by a dominant aerial game and seven touchdown passes from Carlos Moses.
Panama’s under-17 men’s flag football team made their intentions clear to win the gold medal, defeating Brazil 55-34 in their first group stage match of the South American Games. The game was played at Emilio Royo Stadium in the Irving Saladino Sports Complex. Panama’s aerial game was key to the victory. Quarterback Carlos Moses completed seven touchdown passes and added another on the ground, the only one of its kind for the national team.

On the receiving side, Diego Cedeño caught three touchdown passes and Juan Vincensini added two. The other two touchdowns were caught by Ismael Jaén and Nickolas Martínez respectively. He also converted three one-point conversions, while Vincensini added two more. Ethan Díaz contributed a two-point conversion.

Panama Secures a Dominant Second Victory Against Uruguay
Hours later, the Panamanian team returned to action on the same stage and added another resounding victory, this time by beating Uruguay 60-13 to put them with a 2-0 record. Once again, Carlos Moses was the star, completing six touchdown passes from the quarterback position, leading another offensive display by the national team. On offense, Juan Vincensini stood out with three touchdown receptions, while Nickolas Martínez contributed one rushing touchdown and one receiving touchdown. Ethan Díaz and Ismael Jaén also contributed, each with a passing touchdown. The defense also made its presence felt with Joseph Vásquez, who scored a touchdown after an interception, further extending Panama’s lead. In the conversions, Diego Cedeño, Ethan Díaz, Ismael Jaén and Nickolas Martínez combined for five two-point touchdowns, while Vincensini and Jaén added one-point conversions.

The NFL announced Monday that it is partnering with TMRW Sports to develop and operate a professional flag football league for women and men. Notable investors in the new league include: Hall of Famers Peyton Manning, Joe Montana, Steve Young, and Larry Fitzgerald, as well as Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Russell Wilson, Billie Jean King, Alex Morgan, Serena Williams and others.
