Panama Government Authorizes Purchase of Aircraft for More than $197 Million

On Tuesday night, March 11, the Cabinet approved two resolutions to authorize contracts for the acquisition of cargo and combat aircraft for the National Aeronaval Service (Senan). One of the resolutions is for the contract with the Brazilian company Embraer, SA for four aircraft for Senan.

Cabinet members approved this contract through an exceptional process for the aforementioned aircraft. Four A-29 Super Tucano aircraft will be purchased from Embraer, SA for over $78 million. Meanwhile, another resolution was authorized for the purchase of two C295 AeroCasas from AirBus Defense and Space for more than $109 million.
