Two Citizens Were Arrested With $21,000 That They Could Not Justify

Two citizens aged 21 and 29, respectively, were arrested by units of the Motorized Immediate Reaction Group, while they were traveling through the community of Las Margaritas de Chepo, Sunday afternoon.  When stopped, their attitude changed and they became very nervous when their identifications were revealed and verified.   The MIRG unit came to the realization that the two citizens had $21 thousand dollars in a backpack that they could not justify.  The money of different denominations after the IOSCAN test, tested positive for illicit substances.  The evidence was submitted to the competent authorities to continue with regulatory procedures.  Newsroom Panama learned through information from the Public Prosecutor’s Office that those two citizens involved, were arrested and sentenced to 48 months in prison.  Not a lot of details are available at the moment.
