Canadian Man Found Dead In An Overturned Vehicle in Boquete
A Canadian man aged 67 has been found dead in his overturned vehicle in a hydroelectric canal in Boquete Panama. Conditions in the area were complicated the night previous due to dense fog in the evening. The Public Prosecutor’s Office has begun investigations into this case, which is currently being handled as a traffic incident.
Firefighters’ diving teams confirmed the location of the body in the truck, with license plate CE 4168 as the lifeless body of Canadian citizen Ken Currie, and carried out the work to extract the car from the waters of the canal.
The vehicle was found overturned in the canal of the La Estrella hydroelectric plant, located in Los Valles, on the road to the community of Lucero, in Boquete, province of Chiriquí. Since the early hours of Wednesday, the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), firefighters, the National Police and community rescue groups intensified efforts to locate Ken Currie.
Mr. Currie had disappeared the night before in the Boquete/Alto Lino/Jaramillo Abajo sector, while driving to his home in the Lucero residential area. The citizen’s vehicle was initially located, and the removal of the truck from the water was subsequently coordinated.
