Rains with possible flooding and landslides forecast
Downpours starting on April 19 and building across the country. leading to possible flooding and landslides are predicted by Panama’s Civil Protection System (Sinaproc).
They warned on Sunday that precipitations will be of varied intensities, from light to strong and with electric discharges. In the Pacific sector, the rains could be occurring in the afternoon until the early hours of the night, while in the Caribbean sector they would occur in varied periods from morning to night hours.
The Emergency Operations Center (COE) will continue to carry out the monitoring. According to Sinaproc Director Carlos Rumbo, between 22 and 25 stormy rains are expected. They ask citizens to follow the measures for preventing floods and possible landslides.
